**IT Engineer (Helpdesk & Junior Network Engineer)**
**Position Summary**
We are seeking a **versatile and technically skilled IT Engineer** to join our team. This is a **dual role** combining **IT Helpdesk support (~80%)** and **Junior Network Engineering (~20%)**.
This position offers a clear **career path** for those looking to transition from general IT support to **network engineering**.
**Key Responsibilities**IT Helpdesk (~80%)
- Manage accounts in **Active Directory** (creation, deactivation, password reset, group membership).
- Maintain IT inventory (hardware, software, peripherals).
- Document support interactions and resolutions in the **ITSM ticketing system**.
- Escalate advanced issues to senior engineers.
Junior Network Engineering (~20%)
- Assist with configuration and maintenance of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points).
- Monitor network performance using tools like **PRTG, Zabbix, Grafana**, etc.
- Support network changes, upgrades, and documentation.
- Help implement new **network services and security measures**.
- Troubleshoot **Layer 1-3 connectivity issues**.
- Adhere to security policies and procedures.
**Required Qualifications & Skills**
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in **IT, Computer Science, or related field**,



or equivalent experience.
- **2+ years of experience** in IT Helpdesk or Desktop Support.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts**:TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Subnetting, OSI Model**.
- Experience supporting **Windows and macOS**.
- Strong knowledge of **Active Directory**.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a **fast-paced environment** and manage priorities.
- Motivation to grow in **network engineering**.
**Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)**
- **CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA** certification.
- Experience with **enterprise-grade networking equipment** (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, H3C, etc.).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
- Basic knowledge of **scripting (PowerShell, Python)**.
