**Position Overview**:
The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring direct and indirect materials and services required for production and plant operations. This includes managing supplier relationships, ensuring material availability, achieving cost reduction targets, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
**Responsibilities**:
**MRO & Indirect Purchasing**:
- Procure maintenance, repair, and operating supplies, including tooling, spare parts, safety equipment, and plant services.
- Support preventive maintenance programs by ensuring timely supply of critical MRO items.
- Manage local and regional vendor base for facility and maintenance support.
- Evaluate suppliers for quality, service, and cost competitiveness.
**Production Purchasing (Direct Materials)**:
- Source and purchase raw materials, components, and production consumables according to production plans and BOMs.
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Support new product launches by coordinating with engineering, quality, and logistics teams.
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and price agreements.




- Maintain ERP purchasing data (pricing, lead times, supplier codes).
**Cost & Process Management**:
- Analyze spending and identify cost reduction or localization opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with company purchasing policies and ISO/IATF 16949 requirements.
- Collaborate with finance for invoice and payment issue resolution.
**Supplier Development**:
- Conduct supplier audits and participate in supplier approval processes.
- Work with suppliers to improve delivery reliability and reduce lead times.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3-5 years of purchasing experience in an **automotive or manufacturing** environment.
- Knowledge of **IATF 16949**, **ISO 9001**, and supplier quality requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- **Proficiency in Spanish and English languages (written and verbal)**
Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per month
