**Position Overview**
We're seeking a detail-oriented Project Financial Controls Specialist to join our team as the critical checkpoint between sales and permitting. In this role, you'll create pre-project financial projections that determine whether jobs move forward, ensuring ROI Construction only pursues profitable projects while providing complete transparency to our sales team.
This is a foundational role in a newly created department. You'll help build the systems and processes that will scale with our company's growth, working closely with multiple departments to gather data and create accurate financial projections.
**Impact**:Every solar project that moves to permitting will go through your analysis first. You're the financial gatekeeper that protects company profitability.
**Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Projection & Analysis**
- Create detailed pre-project financial projections for every job after site survey completion
- Calculate projected costs including materials, labor, permits, engineering, and any roof or electrical upgrades
- Determine gross profit margins and identify potential "loser" jobs that should be disqualified early
- Build and maintain Redline financial documents showing what ROI charges vs. what salespeople will be paid
- Track investor yield calculations to determine project revenue




**Cross Departmental Coordination**
- Obtain material reports from engineering team
- Collect roof proposals from roofing department for projects with questionable conditions
- Gather electrical upgrade estimates for main service panel work and other electrical adders
- Coordinate with permitting team on permit cost estimates
- Ensure all required documentation is collected before projections can be finalized
- Serve as an early quality assurance checkpoint catching missing information
**Documentation & Compliance**
- Prepare Redline documents for sales representative review and sign-off
- Send completed financial projections via DocuSign to sales reps before permitting begins
- Track and document that all jobs have proper financial sign-off before advancing
- Maintain records of domestic content compliance requirements and attestation letters
- Ensure 100% compliance: every job surveyed must have a Redline sent and documented
- Upload completed Redline documents to job files in AccuLynx
**Required QualificationsTechnical Skills**
- Accounting or finance background - understanding of profit margins, cost accounting, budgeting
- Advanced spreadsheet proficiency - comfortable with formulas, data validation, pivot tables, financial modeling




- Strong numerical accuracy - attention to detail with financial calculations is critical
- Technology aptitude - ability to learn new software systems quickly (AccuLynx, DocuSign, Google Workspace)
**Professional Skills**
- English language proficiency - must communicate clearly with US-based department heads and sales team
- Exceptional organization - managing multiple jobs simultaneously at different stages
- Independent problem-solver - able to identify what's missing and know who to ask

**Preferred (Not Required)**
- Previous experience in solar, construction, or project finance
- Familiarity with project management software
- Experience with investor funding models or tax credit programs
- Background in quality assurance or process control
**Working Conditions**

- **Collaboration**:Regular interaction with engineering, roofing, permitting, sales, operations teams, and the Backend Evaluator (who tracks post-installation costs)

Pay: Up to $36,500.00 per month
