Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leader in the HVAC industry, has an opening for a Plant Manager at our facility located in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico.
For over 110 years, Bard Manufacturing Company has been a family owned and operated company, leading the HVAC industry in the modular, classroom, equipment shelter, and other light commercial markets. With production facilities in Ohio, Georgia, and Mexico, we service our customers both nationwide and internationally by designing and manufacturing cutting-edge engineered products.
**Scope and Responsibilities**:
The Plant Manager directs the overall plant operations to achieve daily, weekly, monthly and annual operating goals and objectives.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- **Management**: Directs production, production control, shipping, and manufacturing engineering staff at manufacturing site.
- **Fiscal**: This site is a P&L; center with this position responsible for all variable and fixed costs related to manufacturing of finished product. Plans and manages the operations budget.
- **Quality**: Responsible for quality of shipped products. Ensures quality system prevents product non-conformances and manufacturing processes are controlled to meet product specifications. Partners with Quality Coordinator on executing quality system. Fosters a structured problem solving approach.
- **Shipments**: Responsible for shipping product on time to meet customer promise dates.
- **Production Control**: Responsible for management of raw material and WIP inventory control to ensure availability of inventory to meet production schedules and optimize inventory levels. Works closely with materials and other plants on development on production schedule.
- **Manufacturing Engineering**: Responsible for engineering and maintenance of process methods in support of daily operations. Drive continuous improvement projects.
- **Safety**:



Works in harmony with Corporate Safety on a 6S approach throughout the plant.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Aligns plants strategies for continuous improvement to overall company-wide operational strategies. Bases development of continuous improvement strategies on principles of lean and six sigma.
- **Human Resources**:Partners with HR on employee relations and Union Matters.
- **Compliance & Legal**: Ensures all employees and business practices comply with Bard's code of ethics and legal requirements. Maintains a workplace environment that encourages frank and open communications and free from fear of reprisal. Maintains IMMEX program, ensures compliance to all Mexican Laws, and Regulations.
- **Travel**:Occasional travel is required inside and outside the country to support projects, corporate meetings, and customers as needed.
**- Experience and Skills**:
**Education/Experience Requirements**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field desired, plus 15+ years of Sr. Operations management experience.
- Prior Plant Management Experience
- Background in High Mix/Low Volume Production Kind of Business
- Prior Materials Manager Experience a Plus
- Experience with Engineered Products a Plus
- Sheet Metal Fabrication and/or HVAC Industry Experience a Plus
- Labor / Management Relations Experience
- Worked in an ISO 9001:2015 Standard or Similar Environment
- Must be fully bilingual (reading, speaking, and writing)
- Lean Enterprise, Toyota Production System
- Six Sigma, Structured Problem Solving Skills
- Materials Management
- Business Process Improvement
- Project Management
- Strong Oral & Written Communications Skills
- Ability to Act as a Change Agent
- ERP (Especially MRP) Knowledge
