The Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting activities across the Accounting organization including the preparation of monthly accounting records as well as related reporting, analytical activities and initiatives.General Responsibilities- Prepare and enter journal entries- Responsible for performing balance sheet reconciliations- Follow the company's chart of accounts- Support month-end and year-end close process- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options- Identify errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, liaising with management and cross-functional stakeholders- Prepare financial statements and supplemental schedules- Develop and document business processes ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions- Prepare special financial reports as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trendsExperience / Qualifications- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree)
