Software Quality Engineer
Role Overview
Mandatory- 90% English level A Quality Engineer (QE) focusing on microservices develops and maintains test automation frameworks for distributed systems. They are responsible for testing API integrations, contract testing, and implementing shift-left testing — ensuring that independent services communicate reliably, scale seamlessly, and maintain data integrity across the entire application stack.
Key Responsibilities
Framework Development
Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend validations using modern languages (C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript).
Microservices & API Testing
Validate RESTful APIs, service virtualization, and integration testing across distributed services.
CI/CD Integration
Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and deployment pipelines to enable continuous quality gates before production deployments.
Performance & Scalability
Conduct load, stress, and endurance testing to evaluate system behaviour and bottlenecks under peak operational conditions.
Data Validation
Execute backend database testing (SQL and NoSQL, postgres) to ensure data integrity and proper state transitions across interconnected services.
Observability & Monitoring
Analyze system logs, metrics, and distributed tracing to troubleshoot failures and monitor microservice health.
Typical Day-to-Day
Review user stories and write test plans before development starts.
Build and maintain automated regression suites in CI/CD pipelines.
Validate REST API behavior using tools like Postman, RestSharp, or custom scripts.
Perform SQL queries to verify backend data state.
Collaborate with developers on Kubernetes-deployed services in staging/dev environments.
Report defects with clear reproduction steps and environment context.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
3–5 years of relevant experience in software quality engineering
Programming Skills and working in Microservices enviroments
Strong proficiency or preferred: C#,,Playwright ,TypeScript, — sufficient to write production-grade automation code. DevOps / Cloud Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions Monitor tools, Like Dynatrace or similar
Source Control & DevOps Azure DevOps, Git, NPM
Architecture Familiarity
Experience developing or maintaining automated tests for web applications, APIs, services, or platform components under microservices / distributed systems architecture.
Experience testing Microservice APIs deployed on Kubernetes, including validation of Pod lifecycle, service endpoints, health probes, and end-to-end API behavior across distributed services
Tools & Technologies
Category Tools
API / Contract Testing Postman, REST Assured, Pact, WireMock
UI Automation Playwright, Cypress, Selenium
Performance Testing Apache JMeter, k6
Additional Experience
Familiarity with AI-assisted SDLC from a testing perspective
Experience with automated UI, API, integration, performance, or regression testing frameworks
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and quality gates
Knowledge of security testing concepts — authentication, authorization, roles, and permissions
Experience improving test strategy, release readiness, developer tooling, or quality processes
DevOps & Version Control
Tool Usage
Azure DevOps Pipeline management, test reporting, work tracking
Git Version control, branching strategies, PR workflows
What a Strong Candidate Looks Like
Writes automated tests (unit, integration, E2E) as a first-class activity, not an afterthought
Can read and contribute to production code — not just test scripts
Understands API contracts and validates behavior at the service boundary
Thinks in terms of test coverage across layers — DB → API → UI
Champions shift-left testing — quality starts at requirements, not after development
Comfortable working across cloud-native, containerized environments
