Position SummaryThe Licensing & Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining provider licensure, certifications, and credentialing requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and uninterrupted operational and billing workflows.
This role supports the same operational and revenue cycle department by coordinating provider enrollment, maintaining credentialing records, and ensuring all clinicians and professionals meet federal, state, and payer requirements.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage provider licensure, credentialing, and re-credentialing processesEnsure all clinicians and professionals maintain active licenses, certifications, and credentialsComplete and submit payer enrollment and revalidation applicationsTrack and monitor license renewals, credential expirations, and compliance deadlinesMaintain accurate and up-to-date provider credentialing files and documentationCommunicate with providers, payors, and regulatory agencies regarding credentialing statusIdentify and resolve credentialing discrepancies and enrollment delaysEnsure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific credentialing requirementsSupport billing and revenue cycle teams by ensuring providers are properly credentialed and enrolledPrepare credentialing and licensing reports as requestedAssist with audits,
compliance reviews, and regulatory inspectionsMaintain strict confidentiality of provider and organizational dataRequired Qualifications EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferredExperienceMinimum 2+ years of licensing, credentialing, or provider enrollment experienceHealthcare credentialing experience strongly preferredKnowledge of payer enrollment and compliance regulations preferredCertifications (Preferred)Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) – NAMSSCertified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) – NAMSSSkills & CompetenciesStrong organizational and time management skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage deadlines and multiple prioritiesProficiency in credentialing software, EMR systems, and Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of state licensing boards and payer enrollment portalsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsOffice or remote work environmentProlonged periods of sitting and computer useAbility to maintain focus on detail-oriented tasks#J-*****-Ljbffr
