Position Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional Supply Chain Manager with extensive operational expertise to join our team of problem solvers. In this role, you will lead complex client engagements, providing strategic direction and hands-on implementation support across various operational functions. Your deep knowledge of supply chain management, manufacturing processes, and operational optimization will be instrumental in delivering transformative solutions for our clients. You will serve as both a trusted advisor to client leadership and a mentor to our junior team members.
You will be responsible for diagnosing operational challenges, designing comprehensive solutions, and overseeing implementation to ensure tangible business impact.
This role requires you to draw upon your wealth of experience to navigate ambiguous situations, identify root causes of operational inefficiencies, and develop sustainable systems that scale with our clients' growth.
You are a strategic thinker with a bias for action, capable of both high-level system design and tactical execution. You have a proven track record of solving complex operational problems and driving measurable results. You thrive in fast-paced environments, embrace uncertainty, and possess the resilience to overcome obstacles. You are a natural communicator who can effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and articulate complex concepts in accessible terms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive operational assessments for clients, identifying opportunities for improvement and prioritizing initiatives
- Design and implement scalable operational systems and processes tailored to client needs
- Provide expert guidance on supply chain optimization, inventory management, manufacturing processes, and logistics
- Develop, mentor and manage team members and provide technical guidance across projects
- Build models and conduct data analysis to quantify impact of operational improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between operations,
product development, and business strategy
- Document best practices and methodologies to enhance Pelagic's knowledge base
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative operational approaches
- Serve as a thought leader representing Pelagic's operational expertise in client meetings and industry forums
- Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in operations, supply chain management, or related fields in a leadership capacity
- 2+ years of experience with direct reports
- Proven track record of leading operational transformations and driving measurable improvements
- Deep expertise in multiple operational domains (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, inventory management, process optimization)
- Experience working with startups or high-growth companies facing complex operational challenges
- Strong analytical abilities and data-driven decision-making approach
- Excellent people and project management skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Superior communication and presentation skills with ability to influence at executive level
- Experience with operational technology systems, ERP implementations, or digital transformation initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Certification in relevant methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, PMP) is a plus
