Descripción y detalle de las actividades**JOB SUMMARY**:Responsible for promoting the well-being of all Medline employees and ensuring workplace safety and OSHA/EPA compliance for all Medline locations, branches and subsidiaries.Lead all environmental, health and safety compliance and management system functions and activities.Manage the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program and staff.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:- Develop environmental strategies to ensure safety and compliance.Monitor regulations and develop and implement programs to assure compliance.
- Accountable for the implementation of, and company adherence to, all environmental policies and practices.
- Ensure regulatory compliance to minimize the risk of workplace injury to Medline associates.Oversee, manage and direct Medline's safety program through planned and periodic audits, corrective and preventative action plans.
- Own the relationship with OSHA, state and federal agencies regarding safety issues, incidents, and reports.
- Review EHS program for areas for process improvement, driving efficiencies and reducing costs.
- Develop, manage and communicate EHS plans, trend analysis, progress, and requirements to Senior Leadership.
- In each region, oversee the identification, assessment and development of programs to reduce safety and environmental risks and control costs; conduct site audits and visits as necessary.
- Make resource and investment allocation decisions in support of the vision and strategy.
- Management responsibilities include:- Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department;- Manage,
develop and control departmental expenditures against the expense budget;- Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops;- Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;Experiência y requisitos**Education**- Bachelor's Degree in safety, environmental, occupational health or in a related educational field such as environmental engineering, environmental science, or industrial hygiene.
**Certification / Licensure**- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification or higher designation as granted by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
Work Experience- At least 5 years of audit, compliance and training experience with a focus on OSHA, USDOT, NFPA, ISO and EPA standards.
- At least 4 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
**Knowledge / Skills / Abilities**- Experience and skills in influencing, leading and directing individuals in multiple functional areas.
- Demonstrated ability to control and coordinate concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of EHS management systems.
- Advanced level skill in Microsoft Office.
- Position requires travel up to 40% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
