Real Estate is a strategic growth area for Mishcon and the second largest department in the firm with 44 partners and over 130 fee earners. A number of new market-leading real estate partners have joined our ranks in the past 12 months and more strategic hires are in the pipeline. Professional Negligence
As a leading claimant-side law firm, we have been involved in many high-profile negligence actions arising from fraud, financial scandals, poor professional service, and corporate and project collapses where we have represented claimants seeking redress for the losses incurred due to professional negligence.
During times of business collapse and financial turmoil, clients, whether liquidators, administrators and companies, look to the professional advice they have received. Often this requires prompt action from experienced multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional experts, to preserve whatever assets may be under threat, whilst investigating potential causes of action against those responsible for or complicit in the collapse, which often may include the company's auditors and other professional advisors. Our unrivalled experience and the close collaboration between our London and Hong Kong offices allows us to pursue investigations and claims round the clock, 24/7.
Business jeopardy, crises and risks can occur at any time, threatening to paralyse your operations and potentially bring down your business. This business jeopardy could be due to the negligence of professionals on multi-million pound projects or business deals and professionals such as solicitors, accountants, investment and insurance advisors, as well as trustees, surveyors, architects, and engineers,



may be held liable for their actions or omissions.
**Responsibilities**:
- The work involves claimant professional negligence actions against solicitors, accountants, investment advisers and construction professionals.
- The role is in an existing team of 3 headed up by Richard Gerstein, the firm's head of professional negligence. It will involve management and supervision of another member of the team.
- Management functions will include financial and business development.
Skills/Experience
- Ideally 6-8 years PQE gained at rated professional negligence practice.
- Ideally experienced in construction related claim.
- Operating as a Managing or Senior Associate.
- Strong academic record.
- Good drafting and negotiating skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively manage own workload.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
- Personable and confident, able to build relationships with partners/ key stakeholders.
- Resilient and calm under pressure.
- Adaptable and adaptable approach.
- Pro-active and takes initiative.
- Assertive, focussed with strong interpersonal skills to be able to present themselves in a confident manner to clients.
- Organisational and prioritising skills are also essential to meet the demands of challenging, commercial clients, both internal and external.
- Good teamwork skills.




- Demonstrates an ability to secure repeat work from internal and/or external clients and has taken steps to develop new business.
- Great mentoring and supervisory experience.
