Position Summary:
The Development Engineer provides economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Cable Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Laboratories, raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the development & industrialization activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base.

- Primary Responsibilities, Tasks & Deliverables:
- Process / Product validation & transfer - Extrusion
- Assist with product/process qualification
- Interact with test lab on product/process qualification activities.
- Support process improvement activities plus DOE, PFMEA, 8D & FA
- Tooling Specification & Design.
- Support additional manufacturing sites
- Interact with outside equipment & tooling suppliers to ensure specification/requirements are met.
- Support SQEs with raw material suppliers to develop and improve materials/quality/supply.
- Support Cost Reduction Initiatives.
- Support SAFE Activities
- Support ISO Activities
- Provide Technical support for maintenance activities.




- Provide any support for any activities or projects necessary to support the business
- Job Requirements/Experience Necessary
- Plastics, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Degree preferred.
- This is an entry Level Position
- at least 5 years experience in a high volume production environment a plus.
- Knowledge of extrusion monitoring & control systems desirable
- Proficient in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean
- CAD Experience Required
- Knowledge of materials used in the manufacture of wire & cable a plus.
- Knowledge of additional manufacturing processes & equipment used in the manufacture of wire & cable a plus.
