**What You'll Do**
The Staff Accountant is responsible for carrying out most of the day-to-today accounting functions of a rapidly growing organization, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements for management, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local principles, performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Reporting to the Country Financial Controller, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
**Accounting Operations**
- Own and manage the Purchase-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash accounting cycles.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and e-commerce payment processor transactions.
- Ensure alignment between sub-ledger and general ledger balances.
- Record daily financial transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and tax regulations.
**Month-End & Year-End Close**
- Prepare and post recurring and ad hoc journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes and deliverables.
- Assist with audit preparation and the creation of financial reports for leadership.
**Accounts Payable & Receivable**
- Process and code vendor invoices and customer payments accurately and promptly.
- Manage AP/AR functions, including reconciliations and aging reports.
- Oversee the processing of daily and manual customer refunds in coordination with the customer service team.
**Inventory & Cost Management**
- Support inventory data entry and assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations.
- Reconcile purchase orders against payable invoices.
**Fixed Assets & Accruals**
- Maintain records of fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and intangible assets.
- Manage associated depreciation and amortization schedules.
**Payroll & Contractor Management**




- Assist with payroll processing for U.S. employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Coordinate timely invoicing and payments for independent contractors.
**Budgeting & Forecasting**
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct Budget vs. Presente variance analysis and highlight key insights.
**Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Continuously review and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Work closely with other departments to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in finance projects that support business growth and scalability.
**What You'll Have**
- Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 3+ years working in general accounting, preferably in e-commerce or retail industries.
- Must have an understanding of US GAAP & US tax regulations.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred.
- Experience in using Shopify and BrightPearl preferred.
- Experience in using accounting software (e.g., Xero or Quickbooks).
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of common bookkeeping and spreadsheet programs.
- Team player with a commitment to having a positive impact.
- Professional manner and a strong ethical code.
- Data accuracy and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
