**Core Responsibilities**
- Lead the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Create and manage engineering drawings with proper GD&T; to meet functional, dimensional, and tolerance requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure designs are aligned with production capabilities
- Support the prototyping process, including vendor coordination and validation of first articles
- Maintain and revise Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement projects




- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all designs
Experiência y requisitos
**Basic Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design for manufacturing environments
- Proficient in SolidWorks, or equivalent 3D CAD software
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and production processes
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems with a hands-on and analytical approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred for cross-border collaboration
**Bonus Qualifications**
- Experience designing for CNC machining, sheet metal, or casting processes (Investment Casting)
- Familiarity with FEA tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS)
- Knowledge of lean product development or DFMA principles
- Hands-on experience in prototyping or fabrication shops
