Primary Responsibilities
- Lead NPI product transition and ramp in low cost center
- Support failure analysis, root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
- Aid with test software deployment and test station issues.
- Develop and document fault isolation troubleshooting tools and guides.
- Convey detailed information on failures and yields to design and NPI teams.
- Act as Ciena’s primary technical point of contact for RMA failure confirmation.
- Drive yield and process improvements.
**Required Skills**:
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Optical Engineering or Physics
- Knowledge of optical test equipment and measurement methods.
- 10+ years working in a production environment as test engineer or equivalent.
- A comprehensive understanding of the fundamental components of photonic line cards, such as WSS (Wavelength Selective Switch), EDFA (Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier), semiconductor lasers, and others.
- Good understanding of statistics in a production environment (CPk analysis, paretos)

- Having worked in a similar role before.
