SUMMARY: The purpose of the Production Supervisor position is to provide continuous guidance and support to production operators on the line. Success in this role is vital to continuous improvement efforts in the area and exceeding customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Verify product specifications to determine assembly requirements and ensure proper product performance.
- Perform work order entry into the system (if applicable).
- Comply with standard operating procedures.
- Communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Ensure that the work area and operators maintain the appropriate level of 5S and that VDM boards are up to date.
- Coordinate with supervisors to ensure a safe environment; retrain as necessary.
- Lead the resolution of quality issues during the shift.
- Promote standard work and resolve deviations to the process.
- Support training of new operators in work methods, machine setup, daily priorities, quality procedures and documentation.
- Lead by example and provide feedback on safe practices, time management, rule compliance and quality processes.
- Be open to cross-training across multiple teams.
- Coordinate with Quality, Engineering and Maintenance to resolve issues.
- Maintain open communication with team and supervision on safety, quality, productivity, etc. issues.
- Communicate relevant information between shifts.
- Subject to scheduling and overtime rotation.
- Meet KPI's assigned by your manager: safety, product quality, on-time delivery,



productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor's degree level preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year assembly experience; previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to accurately read and understand materials such as blueprints, work instructions, routines, operating method sheets, measuring equipment, etc.
- Ability to type and record basic information on a computer.
- Knowledge and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Interpret written or oral instructions, diagrams or schedules.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write reports, manuals and communicate effectively with employees, managers, customers and the general public.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of pneumatic, power and hand tools.
- Have good coordination and attention to detail.
