**Job Title**: GIS Mapping Specialist (Property Measurement & Analysis)

**About the Role**
**Core Responsibilities**
- Utilize GIS mapping software to create, edit, and manage polygons for property features (turf areas, flowerbeds, slopes, etc.).
- Build and manage multiple mapping layers for property sites, ensuring data is well-structured for analysis and reporting.
- Accurately calculate square footage, slope, and other relevant measurements.
- Interpret aerial imagery, site plans, and topographic maps to classify and identify landscape areas.
- Conduct quality control checks to maintain data accuracy and verify against field or reference data.
- Export mapping data, reports, and shapefiles for internal team and client use.
**Required Skills & Experience**
- Proven experience in GIS mapping and polygon creation for area measurement (turf, planting beds, slope analysis).
- Advanced proficiency with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD Map 3D, Google Earth Pro, or similar).
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial data formats.




- High accuracy in calculating square footage and slope from aerial maps and imagery.
- Ability to interpret satellite imagery, property surveys, and site plans.
- Experience importing/exporting GIS data in formats such as shapefiles, KML, GeoJSON, and CSV.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in landscaping, land surveying, or environmental mapping with a focus on area calculations.
- Knowledge of remote sensing techniques and digital elevation models (DEMs) for slope and contour analysis.
- Familiarity with LiDAR data for enhanced mapping accuracy.
- Ability to recommend optimal GIS tools and workflows for project efficiency.
