Operations Manager - Americas
**Your role and responsibilities**
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by leading the project team members to achieve project requirements, deliver contracted deliverables, and meet the committed project result.
The work model for the role is hybrid with occasional travelling to customers and sites.
This role is contributing to the growth and strengthening of the Excitation Systems BL and Hydro Automation in MX and LATAM/SAM.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Leading the project team, establishing the project execution approach, and overseeing planning, monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
- Monitoring and controlling project progress, efficient resource utilization, and project financials.
- Identifying, qualifying, quantifying, managing project risk,



and ensuring all opportunities are identified and pursued.
- Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.
**Qualifications for the role**
- **Educational Background**: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on electrical power generation; PMI or ABB Project Management Certification (for internal applicants).
- ** Project Management Experience**: Over 10 years of proven success in managing complex projects, particularly in power generation, automation and electrical systems.
- ** Leadership Skills**: Demonstrated experience leading Project Management teams (5+ years preferred), with a strong record of coordination and results.
- ** Communication & Influence**: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills; able to build trust and credibility across teams.
- ** Language Proficiency**: Mother tongue Spanish, written and spoken, English is an asset.
- ** Business Acumen**: Solid understanding of project finances, cost control, and contractual obligations.
- ** Travelling**:Occasional travelling is necessary for this role.
**More about us (mandatory)**
This position will be based in Mexico and reporting to the Americas region for the Excitation BL part of PAEN and reporting to the Americas Operations Manager.
Relocation package is not supported for this role.
