We are expanding and looking for **Registered Nurses** who are professional, dependable, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
We are seeking **experienced Registered Nurses (RNs)** to join our clinical team in Puerto Vallarta. This position offers a diverse mix of **in-clinic care, home visits, and virtual care support**. Nurses at CanMex Health play a critical role in patient assessment, treatment assistance, infection control, and ensuring that all clinical areas meet the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
All medical equipment, digital charting tools, and supplies are provided by CanMex Health.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Clinical Care**
- Perform patient triage, vital signs, and comprehensive nursing assessments.
- Support doctors during consultations and minor medical procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications by oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intravenous routes.
- Initiate and manage IV therapy, including rehydration, antibiotic administration, and infusion monitoring.
- Provide wound care, suturing assistance, burn management, dressing changes, and removal of sutures or staples.
- Assist in dermatological, gynecological, and minor surgical procedures such as lesion removal, biopsies,
and nail procedures.
- Collect laboratory samples (blood, urine, stool, swabs, etc.) and ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and chain of custody.
- Conduct ECG, glucose, pregnancy, and other rapid diagnostic testing as required.
- Observe and monitor patients receiving treatments or during observation, documenting and reporting any changes in condition.
- Participate in emergency response and stabilization when required.
**Home Visits & Telemedicine**
- Conduct home visits for nursing care, medication administration, and wound management.
- Support virtual consultations by preparing patients, coordinating remote assessments, and assisting the attending physician.
- Provide follow-up care instructions and reinforce treatment adherence for patients in remote or home settings.
**Patient Education & Support**
- Educate patients on medication use, wound care, follow-up instructions, and preventive health.
- Promote patient understanding and empowerment through clear, compassionate communication.
- Maintain confidentiality, respect, and cultural sensitivity with every patient interaction.
**Documentation & Coordination**
- Accurately document all nursing interventions, assessments, and treatments in the **CanMex Health Network Patient Portal**.
- Ensure medical records are complete, legible, and updated in real time.
- Coordinate care between physicians, paramedics,
and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Assist in laboratory and imaging coordination, follow-up tracking, and referral management.
- Support efficient clinic operations, including preparation of treatment areas and patient scheduling assistance when needed.
**Cleaning, Disinfection & Sterilization**
- Clean, disinfect, and prepare all clinical work areas before and after each patient encounter.
- Maintain strict infection prevention and control practices for all medical spaces and equipment.
- Clean and disinfect medical devices, including reusable instruments, diagnostic equipment, and treatment surfaces.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment (autoclave) according to safety and quality standards.
- Prepare and package instruments for sterilization, maintaining accurate sterilization records and tracking logs.
- Oversee proper segregation, labeling, and disposal of biomedical waste, sharps, and contaminated materials.
- Conduct daily inspections of treatment rooms to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety protocols.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock of disinfectants, cleaning agents, and sterilization supplies.
- Report and document any incidents of contamination, exposure, or equipment malfunction.
- Participate in staff infection control training and implement best practices in alignment with all applicable health and safety regulations.
**Team & Operational Support**
- Participate in staff meetings, quality reviews, and continuing education programs.
- Maintain open communication with medical and administrative teams.
- Support daily clinic operations, including supply checks, patient preparation, and assistance with logístical needs.
