The preferred working location for this role is the Medtronic facility located in Mounds View, Minnesota; however, the individual may also work remotely within the US or onsite at another US-based Medtronic facility.

**A DAY IN THE LIFE**
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Leadership
- Maintain and follow the enterprise architecture strategy, artifacts,
ensuring it aligns with the organization’s long-term business and IT goals.
- Collaborate with IT and business leaders to ensure they are following the governance, artifacts and requirements for all technology projects to ensure we are optimizing the portfolio and costs across Medtronic.
- Facilitate the Enterprise Architecture and APM evaluation, selection, and integration of new technologies, ensuring they fit within the enterprise architecture framework and promote innovation.
- Foster a culture of design thinking, ensuring user-centric approaches to problem-solving and solution development across the enterprise.
Application Portfolio Management (APM) Governance
- Lead initiatives that assess and mitigate technical debt, ensuring technology solutions remain scalable and sustainable over time.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure all technology investments are compliant with regulatory requirements, IT governance policies, and security standards.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and legal teams to proactively address any emerging risks or compliance issues.
Collaboration & Partnership
- Serve as a bridge between IT and business leaders to ensure alignment of governance processes and overall optimization of our portfolio.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and strategy sessions to foster collaboration, share insights, and co-create architectural solutions that meet business needs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with VMO to understand our strategic partners, partners, and external consultants, leveraging their expertise to enhance internal capabilities.
Cost & Performance Optimization
- Ensure that technology solutions deliver measurable business value while maintaining a balance between performance, cost, and risk.
- Drive financial accountability through detailed budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.
Process Improvement & Standards
- Lead the continuous improvement of IT processes to increase efficiency, quality, and innovation in solution delivery.
- Ensure adherence to IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) and enterprise-wide standards to maintain consistency and compliance.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
**MUST HAVE**(Minimum Qualifications)
- 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree
- 7+ years of managerial experience
**DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
**NICE TO HAVE**(Preferred Qualifications)
- Strongly Preferred:
- Previous Medtronic experience
- Certifications: TOGAF, ITIL, or equivalent certifications in architecture and IT governance preferred
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate future trends, see the big picture, and help drive a long-term enterprise architecture strategy and program in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build partnerships with senior leadership, business, and technical teams.
