Job Description
As a Statutory and Technical Accounting Manager, you will serve as a key accounting expert and trusted business partner responsible for statutory financial reporting, technical accounting guidance, and external audit coordination across LACan countries.
You will collaborate closely with Finance, Tax, and external auditors to ensure compliance with IFRS and local reporting requirements while supporting complex accounting assessments and delivering high-quality financial information.
This is a unique opportunity to influence accounting decisions, strengthen financial compliance, and contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial reporting across the region.
Lead end-to-end statutory audit activities across LACan countries, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors
Coordinate statutory financial statement preparation, audit planning, statutory amendments, and timely issuance of final audit reports.
Assess and monitor accounting treatment differences between IFRS and Local GAAP to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Partner closely with Tax, R2R, and Finance stakeholders to align tax accounting, deferred tax calculations, and statutory reporting requirements.
Perform statutory and tax ledger reconciliations and support compliance with local regulatory obligations.
Prepare and review Accounting Position Papers (APPs) and Accounting Position Memos (APMs) in accordance with Novartis Accounting Manual guidance.
Provide technical accounting support to R2R teams and participate in closing, reporting, and regional financial review activities.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong experience in statutory reporting, technical accounting, external audit, or financial reporting within a multinational environment
Advanced knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation, including experience assessing complex accounting transactions
Experience partnering with external auditors, tax teams, and finance stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting matters
Fluency in English with excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Requirements
Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent)
Experience supporting Latin American entities and working with SAP, reporting systems, financial consolidation tools, or Accounting Position Papers (APPs)
