Overview
Sr DI Modernization Engineer role focused on architecting, building, and operating scalable, highly available backend platforms and APIs. Location: Hermosillo or Mexico City. Mode: Hybrid.

Primary Responsibilities

Architect and build strategic backend services
Define technical roadmap and architecture direction
Lead scalable system design decisions
Establish observability and reliability standards
Drive Dev SecOps and engineering best practices

Collaborate across product, engineering, and infrastructure teams

Core Technical Skills

Backend Architecture & Distributed Systems; Designing large-scale, high-availability backend systems
Microservices architecture
Event-driven architecture
API platform design
Scalability, reliability, and performance engineering
Programming Languages: Elixir (mandatory) — 2+ years of production experience; strong backend development experience (8+ years overall)
API Technologies: REST APIs; GraphQL; gRPC; ability to select the appropriate API paradigm based on requirements
Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (required); Docker; Kubernetes; production deployment, monitoring, and scaling
Data & Messaging: PostgreSQL; database performance optimization; caching strategies; Kafka (hands-on experience at scale)
Observability & Reliability: Data Dog; monitoring; logging; alerting; SLO-driven engineering
Dev SecOps:



CI/CD pipelines; automated testing; security integration throughout SDLC; infrastructure automation

Security: Secure API design; authentication & authorization; access control; encryption and data protection
