We are seeking an experienced EHS Coordinator to lead and strengthen Environmental, Health & Safety programs within a manufacturing organization. This position will play a key role in building a proactive safety culture , ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing operational risks, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.
Core Areas
- Act as a strategic EHS partner to Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Maintenance, Materials, and Quality.- Lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the site's EHS Management System.- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as relevant management system and customer requirements, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001.- Establish and monitor EHS performance metrics, leading indicators, and improvement initiatives.- Lead environmental, health, and safety audits and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.- Oversee the management, storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste.- Maintain regulatory compliance, permits, reporting, and required government submissions.- Develop and maintain emergency response and contingency plans in coordination with relevant authorities and internal teams.- Serve as the site's EHS representative and lead auditor for applicable ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 activities.- Provide constructive challenge to site leadership to drive risk reduction, prevention,
and continuous improvement.- Lead and develop the EHS team and manage assigned contractors and service providers.- Provide EHS support and coordination across Mexico sites.- Promote a culture where employees actively identify risks, report unsafe conditions, and take ownership of workplace safety.- Maintain the authority to escalate non-compliance and stop operations when environmental or safety conditions present a significant risk to employees or violate established management systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar EHS leadership role, required in a manufacturing environment.- Fluent English, both written and spoken.- Strong knowledge of EHS management systems, regulatory compliance, and environmental and occupational safety requirements.- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and auditing.- Proficiency in MS Office.
Preferred Experience
- Problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys and root cause analysis.- Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including RP, RPBI, RME, and RSU.- Ergonomics and ergonomic risk assessment.- ISO 14001 auditor training or experience.- Experience developing corrective and preventive action plans.
