We are seeking a Design Release Engineer (DRE) to support the design, development, validation, and release of Chassis, Powertrain, and Frame components for current and future vehicle programs. The DRE will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, CAE, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Purchasing, and Program Management to ensure components meet performance, quality, cost, and timing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Own the design release process for Chassis, Powertrain, or Frame system components.
Develop and release 3 D CAD models and 2 D engineering drawings using CATIA V5 or Siemens NX.
Manage engineering changes (ECN/ECR) throughout the product lifecycle.
Coordinate with suppliers during prototype and production development.
Support DFMEA, DVP&R;, APQP, PPAP, and design validation activities.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in design reviews and cross-functional technical meetings.
Resolve design, manufacturing,
and supplier-related issues.
Support prototype builds, vehicle integration, and launch activities.
Maintain BOMs and engineering documentation using PLM systems such as Teamcenter or Enovia.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
1–5 years of experience in Automotive Design Release Engineering.
Experience with Chassis, Powertrain, Engine, Frame, Structural, or Underbody components.
Proficiency in CATIA V5, Siemens NX, or similar CAD software.
Experience with Teamcenter, Enovia, or other PLM systems.
Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance stack‑up, DFMEA, APQP, and PPAP.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including stamping, casting, machining, welding, or assembly.
Ability to work with integral cross‑functional teams.
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
