Senior Tunnel Surveyor/ Tunnel Party Chief Surveyor
for a construction project in
Chesapeake, Virginia, United States. Duration:
Estimated 1 year, with potential placement on other projects thereafter for continuity. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the tunneling survey team. Establish and maintain control networks within the tunnel. Conduct tunnel alignments, as-built surveys, and deformation monitoring. Coordinate with engineering and construction teams for layout and staking. Maintain calibration and proper use of survey equipment. Maintain detailed records and reports. Implement safety and quality protocols. Communicate effectively with project teams to resolve issues. Train and mentor junior staff. Qualifications




Degree or diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum 8 years of underground or tunnel surveying experience, preferably in major infrastructure projects. Proficiency with survey software such as Auto CAD, Civil 3 D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Cyclone. Ability to lead a team and work under pressure in confined environments. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and extended hours. Work Conditions & Benefits
