The Product Sustaining Engineer supports existing products throughout their lifecycle by improving product quality, resolving manufacturing issues, implementing engineering changes, and driving continuous improvement. This role reports to Signals production manager and works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development to ensure products are reliable, cost-effective, and easy to manufacture.

About the Role

This role involves supporting existing products throughout their lifecycle by improving product quality, resolving manufacturing issues, implementing engineering changes, and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and apply product specifications, engineering standards, and customer requirements.
- Evaluate product designs, materials, and components to verify compliance with Buy America Build America (BABA) and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support supplier changes, alternate components, and New Product Introduction (NPI) transition to production.
- Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs),



Bill of Operations (BOO) in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), drawings, and specifications using revision control by Engineering Change Orders.
- Create, modify, and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for existing products and engineering changes.
- Reverse engineer applicable existing components and assemblies.
- Troubleshoot production and product quality issues, leading root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Improve product design for manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and cost through Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar) with experience creating production-ready mechanical drawings and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering with emphasis in electrical-mechanical Product design.
