Mexico Fight League (MFL) is a fast-growing MMA promotion built to develop the next generation of Latin American fighters and bring world-class live events to Mexico — the #2 MMA market globally with no dominant homegrown promotion. We stream events free on YouTube (@fightmfl), run a growing fighter roster and are scaling the tech and data infrastructure behind the business as we grow.
The Role
We're looking for a Software Engineer Intern to help build and maintain the internal tools that power MFL's operations: from fighter data management to our public-facing website and internal automations. You'll work directly with the founding team, get real ownership over shippable projects, and see your work go live in front of a fast-growing audience.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants startup experience, not busywork; you'll be writing real code that ships into production tools used by our team every week.
What You'll Work On
- Ocho Fight Management
— our internal fighter database app built on Base44: shipping new features, fixing bugs,
and extending the platform's data model
- Data scraping & sync
— writing and maintaining Python scrapers (e.g., Tapology) and automated pipelines (GitHub Actions) that keep fighter rankings and stats current
- Custom API work
— building and integrating custom API calls in Python to connect Ocho Fight Management with outside data sources and internal tools
- fightmfl.com
— supporting our Webflow site with CMS updates, new features, and site performance improvements
- Internal tooling
— building small apps/scripts to support ticketing, revenue modeling, and event operations
- New projects
— as MFL scales (multiple venues, more events, larger roster), you'll help scope and build whatever tools the team needs next
What We're Looking For
- Native experience building on Base44 — you've built real apps on the platform, not just poked around in it
- Strong Python skills, specifically: Web scraping (pulling structured data
