- As an Attendant I, Laundry, you will be responsible for operating and tending washing or dry-cleaning machines to perform cleaning tasks for a variety of industrial or household articles. Your duties will include washing cloth garments, suede, leather, furs, blankets, draperies, linens, rugs, and carpets, as well as spotting and dyeing these articles.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Operate washing and dry-cleaning machines to clean various industrial and household articles.
- Inspect articles for stains, colorfastness, and proper cleaning requirements.
- Load and unload articles into washing or dry-cleaning machines, ensuring proper care is taken with delicate fabrics and materials.
- Monitor the operation of the machines and make adjustments as needed to ensure proper cleaning and drying.
- Inspect cleaned articles to ensure all stains and dirt have been removed, and repeat the process if necessary.
- Sort and fold or hang cleaned articles for storage, distribution, or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines,



such as cleaning lint traps and checking for wear and tear.
- Complete additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
**Work Experience**:
- Entry-level position with limited prior training or relevant work experience
- Acquires basic skills to perform routine tasks
- Work is prescribed and completed with little autonomy
- Works with either close supervision or under clearly defined procedures
- Has 0 to 1 year of work experience
