About the opportunity

Detection is where good security operations are won or lost. Our client — a well-established U.S.-based managed services provider running a round-the-clock security operations practice — is expanding its team in Monterrey and hiring a senior Detection Engineer to sharpen how threats are found, investigated, and shut down.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who would rather build and tune detections than wait for an alert to fire. You will be an escalation point for the most serious events, the person who turns a noisy alert pipeline into a precise one, and a mentor to the analysts coming up behind you. You will work inside a 24/7/365 operations environment alongside network, systems, and cloud specialists, leading the security response when incidents cross domains.

What you'll do
- Act as a senior subject-matter expert for detection, investigation,



and response across the security operations practice.
- Design, build, and tune detection logic, correlation rules, and alerting in SIEM and related platforms — improving fidelity and cutting false positives.
- Lead the technical response to significant security incidents, coordinating investigation and containment across security, network, systems, and cloud teams.
- Develop and maintain response playbooks and automation workflows that speed up triage, response, and recovery.
- Run in-depth investigations using threat intelligence and adversary frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK; to scope, contain, and remediate threats.
- Drive problem management — making sure recurring issues get permanent fixes instead of repeated firefighting.
- Evaluate and integrate new security technologies, and contribute to tooling, automation, and process-improvement initiatives.
