The Role
As a Mainframe Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Kyndryl, you will be responsible for leading a squad of mainframe professionals while providing deep technical expertise across enterprise mainframe environments. In this role, you will ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of business‑critical systems that support complex, large‑scale operations.
You will act as both a technical authority and people leader, guiding teams through operational challenges, driving technical excellence, and ensuring adherence to Kyndryl standards and best practices.



Working closely with cross‑functional and global teams, you will play a key role in service delivery, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a mainframe squad, providing technical guidance, coaching, and operational direction.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mainframe technologies, supporting complex incidents, problem resolution, and technical decision‑making.
- Ensure availability, performance, and stability of enterprise mainframe environments, aligned with service level agreements and operational standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement system changes, improvements, and continuous optimization initiatives.
- Promote best practices, documentation standards, and operational discipline to support audit readiness and service quality.
