The Sourcing Leader will create a competitive advantage through the development and implementation of strategies that deliver the lowest total cost, ensure continuity of material supply, and build and maintain relationships with assigned Commodity vendors.
- Drive the supplier selection and approval process working with Avery multi-functional team including Product Development, Marketing, Engineering, Planning and Purchasing.
- Identify companies around the world to support sourcing strategy for different commodities.
- Set up a 3PL warehouse for suppliers/consignment inventory, improving working capital.
- Establish stocking strategies with suppliers that drive working capital and and product availability improvement.
- Work internally with Supply Chain Planning and suppliers to define and develop appropriate vendor-managed inventory levels, where appropriate.
- Develop, Monitor, and manage the performance of assigned suppliers to achieve service, cost, quality, and asset goals.
- Partner with Supplier, R&D; Engineering, Marketing and other groups in support of ongoing Productivity projects, as well as identifying future productivity projects for consideration.
- Forecast and manage inflation/deflation by developing actionable options to offset negative impacts.
Experiência y requisitos
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Engineering, Operations /Supply Chain management. (MBA, CPM a plus).




- Bilingual - English and Spanish. English fluency is a must (both spoken and written).
- Experience leading or supporting procurement, commodity, and supply chain improvement initiatives.
- 5+ years prior purchasing / General sourcing.
- Well versed in purchasing techniques such as strategic sourcing, supplier selection, developing contracts, supplier management, and supply chain logistics.
- Asian/China sourcing knowledge.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills and solid business acumen.
- Supplier Quality or plant quality management experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with multiple functions, sites, and suppliers.
- Solid analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
- Will require travel in North America/S. America/Asia as needed. Need to have proper travel documentation for Intl travel.
