Develops and executes category plans to drive improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, supplier service levels, coordination, delivery, pricing, lead-times, payments and risk mitigation. Executes category sourcing strategies including development and implementation of RFIs and RFPs, selection criteria, supplier negotiation and ongoing supplier management. Engages with operations, production, sales and other cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing alignment and support of category management goals and objectives. Provides leadership for both direct and indirect categories.
- Directs the activities of Category Management teams and subordinate managers.
- Owns the development and execution of strategies related to tactical procurement, spot buy and purchasing activity.
- Identifies profitable suppliers and initiates business and organizational partnerships.
- Negotiates with vendors and suppliers to secure mutually beneficial terms.
- Engages with vendors and suppliers to reduce lead time and minimize inventory exposure.
- Collaborates with line and business managers to develop Category Management objectives (cycle time, replenishment and delivery schedules, cost parameters).
- Monitors procurement outcomes to ensure key objectives are met and costs are held in check.
- Identifies and resolves emerging issues.
- Measures and assesses the effectiveness of Supply Chain processes and procedures related to key strategies.
- Recommends and implements new and innovative initiatives to drive improved performance.
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Typically has 8-10 years of experience in Category Management and typically 2-4 years leadership experience.Fluent business English skills (Written and spoken).
