Job Title: Cost Accountant

Location: Monterrey, Reciente León, Mexico

Reports To: Finance Manager

Position Overview The Cost Accountant will be responsible for cost accounting, inventory control, and financial analysis activities within a manufacturing environment. This position will support cost control, financial accuracy, month-end closing, and operational efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and analyze manufacturing cost accounting activities.
- Monitor and analyze production costs, inventory variances, purchase price variances, scrap, and manufacturing overhead expenses.
- Prepare cost reports, inventory reconciliations, variance analyses, and profitability reports.
- Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of cost data in the ERP system.
- Analyze actual costs against standard costs and investigate significant variances.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing,



Logistics, Warehouse, and Finance teams to improve cost control and operational efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4–8 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory control, cost allocation, and variance analysis.
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Plex, or similar systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Fluent Spanish is required.
- Professional working proficiency in English is required.
- Availability to work onsite.
