POSITION SUMMARY The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for managing the Product Lifecycle for Switchgear design. Switchgear is primarily an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) product, which means each customer order is specifically engineered for each customer. This generally leads to higher complexity and variation for departments supporting this product family. This position is adecuado for individuals who are searching for a fast-paced environment with a mix of product design and manufacturing support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain Switchgear design within Oracle Product Lifecycle Management
- Improve Design for Manufacturability (Safety, Quality, and Efficiency)
- Provide design support for issues discovered during production
- Provide design support for supply chain issues
- Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI)
- Ensure quality of ETO design before released to production
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3+ years of experience in product design
- Bachelor’s degree in any relevant engineering field
- 1-3+ years of experience in 3D modeling / 2D drafting
- Ability to create and troubleshoot control wiring diagrams
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability
- Excellent communications skills – written & verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
