Key Responsibilities
1. Customer &
- OEM Quality Leadership
- Serve as primary quality interface for OEM customers, including direct engagement with quality representatives from Boeing and Airbus.
- Lead customer audits, source inspections, and program-specific quality reviews.
- Ensure compliance with OEM-specific requirements (e.g., DPD/MBD, FAI per AS9102, traceability, configuration management).
- Drive timely containment, root cause, and corrective actions for escapes and customer complaints.
- Maintain strong OEM scorecard ratings (PPM, OTD impact, responsiveness).
1. Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain and continuously improve the site QMS in compliance with AS9100 (latest revision).
- Ensure alignment with customer flow-down requirements and regulatory obligations (e.g., ITAR/EAR where applicable).
- Lead internal audits, management reviews, and third-party certification audits.
- Ensure robust configuration management and document control in a complex program environment.
1. Product &
- Process Quality
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection and where source inspection exists, develop action plans in conjunction with the customers to attain the required level of quality to facilitate their removal.
- Ensure compliance with First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements and production part approval processes.
- Lead structured problem-solving initiatives (8D, RCCA, 5 Whys) based on key areas of CNQ.
- Drive reduction of escapes, rework, and scrap and improvement of FPY.
1. Operational Quality &
- Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Operations and Engineering to embed quality into manufacturing processes.
- Support new program launches and production ramp-ups.
- Establish or improve data-driven dashboards and KPIs
1. Supplier Quality Oversight
- Oversee supplier performance management
- Lead supplier corrective actions for critical components and special processes.
- Ensure supplier compliance with aerospace traceability and special process requirements.
- Support risk mitigation within the supply chain.
1. Team Leadership &
- Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians.
- Build a proactive quality culture focused on prevention and right-first-time execution.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Engineering or related discipline is preferred. Equivalent education or professional work experience may be acceptable.
- Seven to ten years of quality experience in a regulated manufacturing industry; 3 years of which are in a managerial position. Interconnection systems experience adecuado.
- Good familiarity with AS9100, ISO, FAA
- NADCAP special processes and military contracts is preferred including past experience as the ISO/AS9100 Quality representative.
- Demonstrated knowledge and applied experience of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, Six Sigma.
- Strong communication and presentation skills and be capable of representing the organization to customers, suppliers and corporate leaders as the authority on Quality Management.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, spreadsheet applications and databases.
