Job Responsibilities Regional Divisional Engagement: Visit all 46 Divisions in the region annually (in-person and virtual) to build direct relationships with General Managers and their teams, advising them on compliance matters including third-party due diligence, local risk topics, and compliance program expectations and requirements.
Training, Counseling & Advisory: Design, deliver, and continuously improve compliance training (onboarding, risk-based modules, awareness campaigns), and serve as the regional compliance point of contact providing support to regional leadership and any employees.
Regional Insights: Leverage data tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Risk Assessment, Compliance Audit results, investigation trends) together with knowledge of local laws and regulations to identify and track regional trends, translating them into regional‑specific initiatives and practical insights that identify opportunities for the region.
Speak Up & Open Door Liaison: Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees who raise concerns, acting as a communication avenue that directs such concerns to the appropriate function (e.g., IA, HR, Legal) for handling, supporting an efficient Open Door process and helping ensure employee concerns are heard and addressed.
Global Global Initiatives: Participate in and lead global compliance initiatives (e.g., Compliance Audit oversight, program enhancements)
contributing to the continuous improvement of the Magna Ethics and Legal Compliance Program.
Cross-Functional Partnerships: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Internal Audit, Corporate Security, Legal, Government Affairs, HR, and any other relevant stakeholder to embed ethics and legal compliance controls and ensure compliance duties are observed across the region.
Education University or college degree in law, business, accounting, human resources, or other relevant fields. CPA designation or law license are strong assets but not required.
Full professional fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English (English proficiency at C1 level or equivalent certification).
Working proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese is a strong asset.
Basic Skills Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving ability, capable of identifying core issues and delivering practical solutions that comply with the law and work for the business.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor complex messages clearly and persuasively to different audiences, including executive management.
Strong data mastery: ability to read, interpret, and draw actionable conclusions from compliance data (e.g., risk assessments, audit results, investigation metrics).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), with intermediate Excel required; Power BI knowledge is an asset.
Ability to build solid relationships and influence across a diverse group of business people with varied professional backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills to coordinate and complete multiple tasks across departments under established and changing deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, reporting, and written deliverables.
Preferred Skills 10+ years of practical experience in a corporate environment, preferably within a multinational or automotive company.
5+ years of direct experience in compliance, ethics, internal audit, legal, or related control functions.
Working knowledge of anti‑corruption frameworks applicable to the region (e.g., FCPA, Mexico's SNA/General Law of Administrative Responsibilities, Brazil's Lei Anticorrupção).
