**Your Job**
As a Sr Automation Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of automation systems across our manufacturing lines, ensuring process reliability, scalability, and alignment with corporate quality and safety standards.
You will act as a technical authority, driving new projects, mentoring junior engineers, and introducing advanced automation technologies that enhance productivity, yield, and operational efficiency.
**Our Team**
You will be part of the DSS division at the Molex Guadalajara facility, working in close collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers, Supervisors, Quality Engineers, and other cross-functional teams.
Our team is focused on delivering innovative automation solutions that support high-volume manufacturing while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
**What You Will Do**
- Lead the design, programming, and integration of PLCs, robots, HMIs, vision systems, and SCADA platforms to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Manage equipment commissioning, validation, and handover to production, ensuring seamless system implementation.
- Define technical scopes, manage suppliers and contractors, and oversee CAPEX projects related to automation investments.
- Analyze machine data and process metrics to drive improvements in OEE, downtime reduction, and throughput.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers and technicians, establishing programming standards and best practices.
- Evaluate and implement emerging automation technologies, including robotics, AI-based inspection, and predictive maintenance.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with Molex Integral Standards, ISO ****, IATF *****, OSHA, and local regulations.
- Actively support 5S, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, and Lean programs to continuously improve operational excellence.
**Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)**
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics,



Electrical/Electronic, Automation and Control, or Industrial Engineering with a strong automation focus.
- Strong professional proven experience in industrial automation or control engineering, preferably in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on expertise in PLC programming, robotics integration, vision and inspection systems, and control system design.
- Proficiency in English at B2-C1 level.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze machine performance and implement data-driven improvements.
**What Will Put You Ahead**
- Master's Degree in Automation, Robotics, Control Systems, or related field.
- Experience managing CAPEX projects, supplier coordination, and multi-site manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies including IIoT, edge devices, cloud connectivity, and AI vision systems.
- Proven leadership skills with experience coaching engineers and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills and strategic thinking, able to connect technical solutions to business goals.
