Job DescriptionThe Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) has responsibility integrating manufacturing expertise into the New Product Development process.
The role ensures new products are designed for manufacturability, scalability, cost‐effectiveness, and quality.
Acting as a technical liaison between product design, engineering, supply chain, and operations teams, the AME supports the transition from early concept to production launch.ResponsibilitiesServe as the manufacturing voice in cross‐functional NPD teams from concept through launchDrive DFM, DFA and cost optimization into early product designDevelop manufacturing process plans: process flow, equipment selection and layoutLead design, sourcing and qualification of tooling, fixtures and automation for new product introductionSupport prototype and pilot builds, analyze results, and provide feedback to design and engineering teamsAssess and mitigate manufacturing risks through PFMEA, control plans and robust process controlsCollaborate with general supply chain and operations to ensure readiness and scalabilityChampion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the NPD cycleDocument standard work instructions,



process specifications and training materials for production handoffTrack and report key metrics for manufacturability, cost, quality and launch readinessInitiate manufacturing technology innovations and oversee implementation of new processesEducation and CertificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering/Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or equivalent experienceMinimum 5–7 years in a global operations organization, overseeing manufacturing and supply chain activities in multiple regionsRequirementsExperience with cross‐regional manufacturing operations transfersKnowledge of project management within a new product development frameworkKnowledge of DFM/DFX, FMEA and product cost managementKnowledge of electro/mechanical manufacturing processesTravel RequiredApproximately 10% of travel.Equal OpportunityVertiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
