the buyer is responsible for procurement activities of electronic components, metals, fabricated parts, and assemblies to support manufacturing of programmable power supplies in a high-mix environment. This role ensures materials are purchased and delivered on time to support production schedules while following company purchasing and supply chain procedures.

responsibilities:

- place purchase orders for materials, components, and services required to support production and forecast demand.
- monitor supplier delivery performance and follow up on open orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- support negotiations with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- assist in cost reduction and inventory management initiatives.
- work with internal teams to resolve material shortages and supply issues affecting production.
- review mrp recommendations and convert requirements into purchase orders.
- maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information.
- coordinate with planning, warehouse, and production teams to support material availability.
- respond to daily shortage reports and take appropriate actions to minimize production interruptions.
- process supplier returns, replacements, and corrective actions as needed.
- assist accounts payable in resolving invoice discrepancies and supplier payment issues.
- build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to support operational objectives.
- track and communicate supplier performance metrics and delivery commitments.
- ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
- complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

requirements:

- bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement,



or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- experience purchasing electronic components, metals, fabricated parts, or related materials preferred.
- intermediate to advanced english communication skills.
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- proficiency with microsoft office applications, particularly excel.
- experience with mrp/erp systems; navision, oracle, or manman experience is a plus.
- demonstrated ability and willingness to use ai tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.
- the successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate ai use cases and critically evaluate ai-generated outputs.
- ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- effective negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- strong verbal and written communication skills.
- apics, cpsm, cpim, cscp, or other supply chain certifications are a plus.
