Leads large and/or complex engineering projects from initiation through to completion, including projects related to SMT manufacturing processes. Coordinates project planning, staffing, progress reporting, people management and troubleshooting for engineering projects. Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.
Lead the implementation of complex and/or large engineering projects, understanding and driving regulatory and compliance certifications as appropriate (e.g., ISO9000, ISO14000, AS9100, TUV), including those applicable to SMT manufacturing environments.
Participate and may lead product or manufacturing development meetings, making recommendations for change, with emphasis on SMT process optimization and new product introduction (NPI).
In conjunction with project teams, implement best practices for equipment and manufacturing layout for maximum efficiency and cycle time optimization, including SMT lines (printer, pick & place, reflow, AOI, SPI).
Lead complex projects relating to new technical developments and processes,



including SMT process development, transfer, and validation.
Control project budget.
Deliver quotes for projects including new equipment costs, labor, maintenance costs, etc., Drive continuous improvement and optimization utilizing proactive methodologies and trend analysis, focused on yield, quality, and defects reduction in SMT processes.
Assess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilized by the teams, including SMT process metrics and SPC data.
During project implementation, lead the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of equipment set-ups, manufacturing layout, and process changes and/or corrective actions, particularly for SMT production lines.
Assess manufacturing and engineering capabilities; identifying and suggesting solutions for any immediate need or enhancements, including SMT capacity and capability gaps.
Provide ongoing direction and training on process development
