Amentum, a integral leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a SATCOM Electronics Technician to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.
PURPOSE / SCOPE
The SATCOM Electronics Technician is responsible for setting-up, packing, configuring, operating, and maintaining satellite terminals (fixed and tactical) along with associated assemblies and providing technical assistance and training to users.
Other duties may include, but not be limited to the following:
- Serves as a hands-on, working shift for configuration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of SATCOM Terminals.
- Installs equipment according to manufacturer's specifications - Interprets maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Converses with customer, co-workers or supervisor on equipment configuration and provides instruction on operation of equipment.




- Consults with unit co-workers to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
- May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.
- Assist co-workers in servicing and repairing SATCOM related equipment and/or items.
- Assists in preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studies.
- Consults with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
- Leads testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in support of a safe working environment.
- Perform all other position related duties, as assigned, or requested

The SATCOM Electronics Technician will be available for on‐call support as needed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.
