Role Purpose

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will serve as a technical and mechanical lead within Corning Optical Communications' Division Engineering organization, driving general automation projects from concept to production floor. You will be the key connection between Corning's internal cross-functional teams and external equipment integrators, ensuring that new automation equipment is delivered on time, within budget, and built to world class standards. This is a high impact role where your engineering expertise will directly shape the manufacturing future of one of the world's most innovative companies.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end automation projects from design and development through factory acceptance, production start-up, and plant personnel training ensuring equipment meets all performance, quality, and safety standards.
- Drive mechanical design excellence by preparing technical specifications,



conducting independent design reviews, and ensuring all design packages conform to Corning's global automation standards.
- Manage external machine builders and system integrators, evaluating vendor concepts, leading decision analysis, and holding partners accountable to project milestones and technical requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians while contributing to manufacturing and technical roadmaps and protecting intellectual property through proper documentation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
- Valid passport and ability to travel globally (United States and Poland at a minimum)
- Advanced English

Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, automation integration, or capital equipment development and deployment
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks o
