Senior Software Engineer – BigQuery Infrastructure

Seeking an experienced Software Engineer with
8+ years
in large-scale distributed systems, strong
Python
skills, and expertise in infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and multi-region/containerized environments.

Key Requirements:
- Strong Python development for automation and infrastructure tooling
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, multi-cell/multi-region architecture, and orchestration platforms such as Borg
- Experience with CI/CD, presubmit pipelines, nightly builds, and test quarantine
- Working knowledge of
Java/J2EE or C++
- Experience with Google infrastructure tools such as
Borg, Cellmate, or Flex API
- Exposure to
AI/ML agentic workflows
for automated triage, log analysis, and latency analysis
- Focus on improving
CL quality (≥90% pass rate)
and reducing engineering toil through durable automation
- Strong focus on non-production environment stability and overall code health
