Purchasing Supervisor
The Purchasing supervisor is responsible for mentoring purchasing team members and ensuring purchasing procedures are followed consistently. Developing and managing strategic supplier relationships while ensuring the procurement of materials, components, and services at the best total value for Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG). This role leads commercial negotiations, sourcing initiatives, supplier performance improvement, and cost reduction activities that directly impact company profitability.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor purchasing team members.
- Delegate workload and monitor team performance.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure purchasing procedures are followed consistently.

Procurement Management
- Source and qualify new suppliers.
- Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts.
- Award business based on cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.

Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.




- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, pricing, and invoicing.
- Develop contingency plans for high‑risk suppliers.

Cost Management
- Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
- Analyze price increases and negotiate reductions where possible.
- Track material cost trends, tariffs, freight, and surcharges.
- Support annual budgeting and cost reduction targets.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies.
- Verify supplier compliance with contracts, PPAPs, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage import/export requirements, tariffs, Incoterms, and trade compliance when applicable.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering on new product introductions.
- Work closely with Quality on supplier quality issues.
