At the BMW Group, passion transforms work into a purpose. We are looking for a highly skilled Paint Shop Process Engineer to join our Paint Shop team at Plant San Luis Potosí. In this key role, you will ensure stable, efficient, and quality-driven production processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize workplaces and equipment, and support new vehicle integrations.

What awaits you?

Ensure Paint Shop processes, monitoring surface quality, paint application, and implementing corrective actions for defect elimination.
Provide production-oriented feedback into early vehicle development phases and support pre-series builds.
Drive Lean Manufacturing (VPS) principles across the Paint Shop value stream, ensuring process standardization and continuous improvement.
Support the implementation and adherence to BMW working organization standards, process documentation,



safety requirements and operational procedures within Paint Shop areas.
Plan, procure, and clear manufacturing tools, fixtures, and application systems in alignment with supply chain needs.
Autonomously identify cost-reduction opportunities across budget, investment, and material utilization.
Monitor operational KPIs (time, budget, quality), issue technical reports/job instructions, and grant manufacturing process clearances.

What should you bring along?

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, Automotive Engineering, or related fields.
3+ years of engineering experience in Automotive Paint Shop operations (surface treatment, electrocoating, topcoat, application technology, or paint automation).
Knowledge of paint application systems, process parameters, surface defect analysis, root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
Proficiency in process documentation, KPI reporting tools, and
