You are a Data Architect with a strong focus on designing, optimizing, and scaling high-performance data solutions. You enjoy working close to the database layer and understanding how architectural decisions directly impact performance, scalability, and reliability. You are comfortable owning data architecture decisions end to end and thrive in environments where deep technical expertise, autonomy, and collaboration with engineering teams are essential.
You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, database architecture, or similar roles with a strong focus on performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating data solutions on AWS, with strong preference for RDS and Aurora.
- Advanced expertise in SQL, including complex query optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and stored procedure development.
- Deep understanding of how CPU, memory,
storage, and I/O constraints impact database and data architecture performance.
- Experience defining and applying architectural best practices for high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Strong proficiency using GitHub for version control, collaboration, and documentation.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of architectural decisions, and drive improvements end to end.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data quality and system performance.
- Advanced English proficiency, as you will collaborate with distributed and US-based teams.
You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:
- Design, evolve, and maintain data architectures that prioritize performance, scalability, and reliability on AWS RDS and Aurora.
- Analyze and optimize database workloads through SQL performance
