Responsibilities Design, release, and integrate seat structure components and assemblies, including Front and rear seat structures, Seat tracks, Recliners, Manual and power adjusters, Latches and fold-flat mechanisms, Structural brackets and mounting systems, Welded assemblies, Stampings and tubular structures, etc. Understanding of structural design principles, load paths, manufacturability, assembly requirements, and structural integration. Lead development activities to meet requirements for safety, durability, cost, weight, quality, craftsmanship, and manufacturability. Manage engineering deliverables throughout the full product development cycle, from concept and sourcing through validation, launch, and production. Lead issue resolution activities to ensure program milestones and deliverables are achieved. Drive cost, weight, quality, and timing targets for assigned components. Support supplier sourcing activities, technical reviews, and tooling readiness. Lead prototype, DV, PV, and production build issue resolution.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including CAE, Validation, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Safety, and Vehicle Integration. Skills & Experience Experience in the automotive industry with Design & Release, Product Engineering, or Seat Engineering experience preferred. Knowledge of the complete product development cycle, including at least one vehicle launch. Understanding of seat structures, tracks, recliners, mechanisms, latches, stampings, welded assemblies, and vehicle attachment systems. Knowledge of structural validation, durability testing, DVP&R;, DFMEA, GD&T;, and engineering change processes. Experience with CAD (NX preferred), Teamcenter, and automotive release systems. Ability to create and execute timing plans, manage open issue trackers, and drive issue resolution using problem-solving tools such as 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
