Overview
At MezTal, we are building a new accounting department in Mexico to work with a US based operation, and we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with limited but relevant experience who have worked with U.S.-based companies and are eager to develop their careers in accounting.
NOTE: The start date will be in early October, and the recruitment process is currently underway to secure the right talent for the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheets, and other financial statements.
- Prepare and organize documentation for audits and internal reviews.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.





Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (non-related degrees will not be considered).
- Professional English proficiency (written and spoken).
- Experience working with U.S.-based companies (internships or entry-level roles considered).
- Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP principles (academic or professional exposure).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model from Guadalajara, Mexico.
- Proficiency with MS Excel.
- Basic experience with accounting software (Yardi, or similar is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of accounting experience.
- Exposure to multinational environments or cross-border accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Model & Benefits
- Hybrid: 3 days on-site in our offices at Midtown Jalisco, 2 days remote.
- Christmas Bonus: 30 days, to be paid in Decemb
