Senior Fixed Assets Accountant | Guadalajara (Hybrid)
We are seeking an exceptionally senior and highly specialized Fixed Assets Accountant to serve as the subject‑matter expert for all fixed assets, CAPEX, and lease accounting activities. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to operate autonomously in a complex, multi‑entity, multinational environment. The adecuado candidate has a proven background in large corporate or multinational organizations and is comfortable owning fixed assets accounting end‑to‑end under US GAAP and IFRS.
Location: Providencia, Guadalajara, Mexico (3 days per week in the office)
Language: Bilingual, English and Spanish
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work and currently reside in Mexico
Role Overview
The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant will own the full lifecycle of fixed assets accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, leases, intercompany impacts, reconciliations, reporting, and audit support.
This role acts as a technical reference point for fixed assets and partners closely with Accounting, Finance, Tax, Operations, and external auditors. The position requires minimal supervision and a high level of accountability and decision‑making authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the complete fixed assets lifecycle, including CAPEX approvals, capitalization, depreciation, impairments, transfers, retirements, and disposals
- Serve as the primary decision‑maker for capitalization versus expense treatment in accordance with company policy, US GAAP, and IFRS
- Maintain and govern the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness
- Prepare and review monthly depreciation, amortization, and fixed asset journal entries
- Reconcile fixed asset sub‑ledgers to the general ledger on a monthly basis and resolve complex discrepancies
- Lead fixed asset roll‑forwards and supporting schedules for month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close
