Your Role
As a Senior Azure SQL Database Engineer at Capgemini, you will be responsible for the design, development, optimization, and support of enterprise-scale database solutions within Azure environments. You will play a key role in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of critical data platforms while supporting complex business applications and data-driven initiatives.
This role requires deep expertise in Azure SQL technologies, advanced SQL development, cloud-based data services, and database performance optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions and continuously improve database operations.
Responsibilities & Scope
- Design, develop, and optimize database solutions using Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Server.
- Create, maintain, and enhance complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and database objects.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Analyze and optimize query execution plans, indexing strategies,



and database configurations.
- Diagnose and resolve database performance bottlenecks, connectivity issues, and operational incidents.
- Support database development activities across enterprise applications and data platforms.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Support ETL and data integration processes leveraging Azure data services.
- Contribute to automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives within the database environment.
- Ensure database availability, security, reliability, and adherence to best practices.
