Forvis Mazars is looking for a Financial Audit Senior to join our Financial Audit team in Mexico City.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional ready to take greater ownership of engagements, lead teams, strengthen client relationships, and develop specialised expertise in the financial services industry.
In this role, you will lead the planning, execution, and completion of financial statement audits conducted in accordance with international auditing standards. You will also provide technical guidance and work closely with clients operating within highly regulated environments overseen by authorities such as the CNBV, CNSF, and Banco de México.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of external financial statement audits for financial services clients, including banks, SOFOMES, fintech companies, insurance companies, investment funds, and other regulated entities.
- Perform audits in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
- Ensure compliance with Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF), IFRS,



and applicable CNBV, CNSF, and Banco de México regulations.
- Design risk-based audit procedures considering the client’s operations, regulatory environment, and specific financial services risks.
- Supervise and review the work performed by assigned team members, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Prepare and review audit working papers, reports, and management letters.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout the engagement, managing expectations, addressing technical questions, and maintaining effective communication.
- Identify improvement opportunities related to clients’ processes and internal controls, providing clear and practical recommendations.
- Coordinate with specialists in tax, financial advisory, technology, and risk when required.
- Support the training, coaching, and professional development of junior team members.
